Along the well-worn footfalls of the mountain trail, serenity draws you deeper into her pristine forest. Lured by the sound of rushing water as it cascades under an old wooden bridge, your path diverges on both sides of the riparian woodlands. Which road should you choose? Staring up at the blue sky filtering down through the shimmering leaves of the canopy above, you smile, knowing a simple truth in your heart - there is no wrong choice. Lying on your back, a soft breeze rustles through the wildflowers among the swaying blanket of grass in an alpine meadow. You gaze up through the clouds at the snowy peaks of the Rocky Mountains, squinting to recognize the multitude of shapes that quickly form and then dissipate in the cobalt blue sky. Just as you close your eyes, a sharp clap of thunder rattles down the valley, jolting you from your daydream. As the rolling echo falls away, your mind channels the murmuring voices of the ancients, heralding a change of season along the Continental Divide – summer has arrived in the High Country.
